Illustration License Purchase

Illustrators contract directly with authors for the purchase of illustrations for specific publishing streams. Fires Snail Press Books acts as a liaison between author and illustrator. We provide First Step initial intake pairing counsel. We do this by providing a solid network of illustrators devoted to their craft(s) and giving authors access to the team. An author is free to choose the illustrator of his/her choice; however, each illustrator's prices for illustrations vary by skill, time, project, and experience.

Illustrators will provide:

• One illustration draft (i.e., main character or half page) from within your manuscript for a service fee of $50. Non-refundable and illustration will be watermarked for non-publication. 

• When contract is secured: Storyboard of full manuscript will be submitted.

• Time line for video meetings and for illustration completion will be established at this time.

Fire Snail Press Books allows illustrators the opportunity to build their portfolios with each project submitted. The main cost of each book will vary depending upon the number of pages, number of illustrations, the time line to complete the illustrations, and flexibility throughout a calendar year.
